We are receiving a large volume of requests for an appointment with the GP so that a letter can be written to the patients hospital consultant to ask them to expedite, or bring forward, the patients appointment with them.
There is no need to see or speak to a GP to request an expedite letter.

We do ask that you provide as much detail as possible, as this is the information that will be used to write the letter and by the hospital consultant when deciding if you should be reviewed sooner.
Please be aware that it is at the discretion of the hospital consultant whether you are offered a sooner appointment, and requests sent by the GP for an earlier hospital appointment may be rejected or declined. Sending an expedite letter does not guarantee that you will be seen sooner.
