If yes, please ensure that you have considered the following:
- The NHS, including your GP, are unable to provide follow up examinations, treatments or investigations following your surgery for at least 2 years.
- You will need to arrange all necessary follow up investigations, treatments and examinations privately, at a cost to you. This includes any tests required as a result of your surgery including (but not limited to) blood tests, blood pressure checks, weight and BMI checks etc.
Also, please note that for bariatric surgery (e.g. gastric bypass, banding etc.) you will need to be referred after 2 years for specialist care. If your surgery has been carried out abroad, this referral may not be accepted and your treatment may need to continue on a private basis indefinitely.
